What strength training exercises do you feel work best for you to strengthen your arms and add power to your shots?

From: Les

I prefer to do more lower body strength exercises for my body as that’s where you get most of your power in to your shots. Lots of squats and lunges.

If you weren’t a tennis player, what would you most like to do?

From: Will

Work in the broadcasting world

Do you prefer playing against established players who have a lot of experience but whose playing style is well known - or against the inexperienced newcomers who have a lot of talent but less stamina and nerve?

From: Joseph

Makes no difference, I just want to beat whoever it is on the other side of the net!

Many of the girls on the WTA are multi-lingual. Can you speak any other languages/ would you like to learn any in particular?

From: John

I speak Laotian but I don’t get to use it too often. I would love to speak another European language like French or Spanish but haven’t got round to doing anything!

My six-year-old daughter is playing very well & has been picked for the futures team with her tennis club. What advice would you give her and us on the best path to take for her to reach her full potential & hopefully become like yourself?

From: Will

She’s six years old, just enjoy it!

Congratulations on fighting back into top 100. I knew you would get back there. Did playing World Team Tennis take a bit of pressure off from the normal tour and allow you to get plenty of matches and not worry about rankings points?

From: Colin

Thank you. I’ve always wanted to play WTT but kept putting it off for different reasons. I’m really pleased I did it as I had so much fun with my team mates but the schedule was pretty brutal and we spent way too much time travelling so it was incredibly tiring. WTT is totally different to any other tennis event and I’m glad I did it.

In which country do you wish there was a tour event?

From: Jaime

Laos, because that’s where my parents are from.

We all reckon you have the most fab hair on the women’s tour! But how do you keep it so lush while playing and training?

From: Ian

Haha, I like you Ian! Thanks very much :-) I had about eight inches taken off after Australia so it’s not as long as before and I really miss it. I have no special formula, I just like to use a good shampoo and conditioner and i love getting blow-drys if I’m going out.

Who do you most admire in the women’s game right now? Both in terms of talent and personality?

From: Martin

I think Maria Sharapova is a great role model for younger girls as well as Caroline Wozniacki. Caroline is incredibly down to earth and chatty with everyone.

What do you think of Novak Djokovic’s unbeaten run this year?

From: Nathan

I think Novak has been incredible this year. He’s playing with so much confidence and I envy him because I just want a small slice of it!
