Anne to feature in global ad campaign…

Anne Keothavong enjoyed an unusual day in front of the cameras recently during her preparations for the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

The Londoner was invited to take part in the second phase of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour’s global advertising campaign Looking for a Hero which wrapped up production in California this week.

Anne was one of 57 players to get involved in an effort to promote current, rising and national stars of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.

Stars such as Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic featured in the shoot along with up and coming youngsters such as Caroline Wozniacki and Alize Cornet.

The emphasis of the campaign is to convey the players as modern-day superheroes on and off the court to promote the game’s current and future stars in the race to the year-end 2009 Sony Ericsson Championships in Doha.

“It’s always good fun to do something different and get your hair and make-up done,” Anne wrote in a blog after the shoot.

“I had to try hard not to giggle in front of the camera as I was being asked to look serious and tough and then during the action shots I managed to slip and rip the background paper!

“I didn’t hurt myself but I’m not sure if the guys who had to fix it found it as funny as I did!”
