Keothavong injures knee in fence collision
Briton to have tests on Wednesday…
British No.1 Anne Keothavong will undergo a scan on Wednesday morning to determine the extent of a knee injury she suffered 24 hours earlier.
The British No.1 was playing her first round doubles match at the Bank of the West Classic in California when the injury struck.
Keothavong and Japanese partner Ayumi Morita were up against Frenchwoman Julie Coin and Canadian Marie-Eve Pelletier at the time.
Keothavong and Morita had won the first set 6-4 but trailed 5-3 in the second when the Briton collided with a fence while chasing down a shot.
The 25-year-old Londoner was treated on court by a doctor and had to be carried off on a stretcher.
She will undergo tests in California on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury.
She wrote on her Twitter page: “Busted my knee, got a scan in the morning but think I know already.”
