Anne prepares for knee op’…

Anne Keothavong has confirmed she will undergo surgery on her damaged left knee on Tuesday August 11.

The British No.1 will be operated on by Jonathan Webb, a Bristol-based orthopaedic surgeon and knee specialist.

Webb is the same doctor that operated on her right knee back in 2004 when she suffered a similar injury.

The surgery will take place at the Lister Hospital, in Chelsea, south west London.

The 25-year-old from east London brought her 2009 season to a premature end last week when she tore the anterior cruciate ligament and the meniscus in her left knee while competing in California.

The right-hander badly twisted her knee attempting to avoid a collision with a fence while chasing a ball during a first round doubles match.

Dr Webb will perform a procedure known as a hamstring graft to repair the anterior cruciate ligament.

This involves taking a piece of the hamstring tendon from behind the knee and using it in place of the torn ligament.

Once the operation is completed the Briton will slowly increase her range of movement by performing rehab exercises.

“I’ll probably need crutches to get around for the first two to three days and will continue to use them for a week purely so people don’t walk in to me!” Keothavong said.

“The rehab exercises start straight away, They’re incredibly tedious but neccessary.”

The Briton, currently ranked No.55 in the world, hopes to return to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in February 2010.

If you were to date someone, would it be a fellow tennis pro, TV/movie star, or a devilishly handsome firefighter?

From: Mark

None of the above! Right now it would be a very handsome banker!
