Anne books semi-final spot in Torhout
Anne defeats Valerie Tetreault to reach the last four in Belgium
Anne Keothavong has landed a spot in the semi-finals of the ITF $50,000 tournament in Torhout after beating Canadian Valerie Tetreault 6-3 6-4.
The 26-year-old Londoner has not dropped a set so far in the Belgian hard court tournament, and will hope to take that form into her clash with another Canadian – the unseeded Rebecca Marino.
“I’ve played some solid matches this week to reach the semis and I expect more from myself if I’m going to win this tournament. It’s been good so far but I’m looking for it to be better in my next match,” said Keothavong.
“I’m still trying to find my consistency again and it’s there at times but I just know I can still improve so much and that’s what keeps me motivated.”
If she safely negotiates Marino, Keothavong will play either Mona Barthel of Germany, or Serbia’s Bojana Jovanovski in the final.
